Tottenham fans can’t quite believe Mauricio Pochettino’s latest comments, after the manager heaped praise on Moussa Sissoko.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs wrapped up a third consecutive top four finish on Wednesday night, but fans aren’t too happy with the manager’s post match comments.

The hosts beat Newcastle 1-0 to move themselves up into third, despite having to play a weakened midfield with an injury to Mousa Dembele and illness for Eric Dier.

Moussa Sissoko has taken lots of criticism from fans this year, but the manager backed up how highly he rates him after the match.

“I am so proud about all the players because today for me one of the best was Moussa Sissoko. I want to say thank you for how professional he was all season. Not too many people recognise him but I think he was fantastic today,” the manager said, as reported by Football London (22:52).

After multiple seasons of pure admiration from fans, the manager has come under some criticism recently for the stubbornness of his tactics and team selections, but the knowledge that they will be playing Champions League football next season will certainly be a relief.

Nonetheless, fans are bashing Pochettino’s comments on Sissoko, who has proved his versatility this season by playing 48 times across all competitions in multiple positions.
